I have faced financial hardships as a single parent. The court took away child support payments for my daughter. My daughter's father died and she could not receive Social Security benefits. I was forced to raise my daughter alone, but I refuse to let these financial trials break me.
God gave me the ability to take care of my daughter and he cares about you, too. You may feel that no one understands your struggles, but you are not alone. God sees your struggles and frustrations. God promises us that He will never leave you nor forsake you. I challenge you to let God help you raise your child alone. "Come unto me all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
God is your financial provider. In Philippians 4:19 it states, "God shall supply all your needs according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus." Abraham sent away his handmaid Hagar and his son Ishmael with nothing more than some bread and water.
Hagar had depended on Abraham and now she feared that Ishmael was going to die, but God provided for Hagar and her son in the middle of the wilderness. Hagar could have allowed the pain of her child's suffering to break her but instead she cried out to God.
You cannot let the financial pressure of raising your child break you. You can be victorious as a single parent. I challenge you to refuse to be broken by the trials of being a single parent.
